I would say that I am most famous among the Bike Movement group as Drew Foderaro's younger sister. I will be joining him, and the group, as they ride through the eastern portion of Nebraska, and visiting my Grandparents in Milford, NE along the way. This fall I will be heading to Goshen College, majoring in Peace, Justice, and Conflict studies, (PJCS), and minoring in Economics. I will be transferring to Goshen as a third year student, but it will actually be the third college I will have attended in 3 years! (This may well be my second defining attribute.) I went to Eastern Mennonite University my first year, and Elizabethtown College my second year. What has prompted me to move from Elizabethtown is my decision to major in Peace and Justice studies, as well as the way in which Economics is taught through a justice perspective at Mennonite universities.
Through my experiences these past two years, I have learned a lot about myself as well as the Mennonite Church, which is the church I was brought up in. The more I have ventured out into new environments, the more I have been able to perceive and appreciate the Mennonite Church and its values. I am excited by the positive response that Bike Movement has received from the Church throughout the country, and am encouraged by the concern for the future of the Church these young people have. I am excited for the opportunity to journey along side others in this “Movement,” and am proud to be known as the sister of a guy who is going the whole way!
